The value of putting personal information online is that you may find someone you are looking for or something about a medical condition you need to know. No, I would not be comfortable with posting personal information online for fear that someone may find out information I would not want them to know.
We believe that putting your personal information online can be valuable if there's an experience that could help others. We see it as being a way to exchange useful information such as, medical information or educational information. We would not post personal information unless we needed an experts opinion.
Me personally, I would only put something personal on it, If something positive could come out of it.To get information on a medical problem, where you had no where else to go!
I think every one has had an opportunity to become a part of public domain because of blogs. This evercahnging world is influenced by blogging and because people choose the separated way of living sociaologically its intresting how blogs bring people together even more. Its like a librum effect.
The value of strangers reading something about you is educational, they might learn the good and bad, about you as a charecter or a diffrent perspective of life, as a whole.
Anonymously I belive allot of people aready do write about theeir personal life, beyond the required maximum, so do we ever look back and try to stop any one writing something more, probably not. Might those people talk about personal stuff any way outside of bloggin community? If so, maybe they haveto and maybe its just the way they are and I have no right to convince otherwise, and maybe thats what blogs are for.

The value of posting your personal information online is that you are never too far away to be still be in touch of who is close to you. You can show how you are doing and what events have happened to those who would care. Granted, there will be people who do not care who will read your information and that can do with it what they will. As long as you dont give away important information like divers license # and social security # there is not much people can do. I personally dont tell people information over the internet becuase there are ways to communicate with people privately. Blogs are not for me but they are a good outlet for some.
I thought Mead's essay was intresting because blogging has become the norm to the online experience. Plus the essay helped me understand that blogs are just for online journals but also for photos, video, and even buisness purposes. Even though I have never made a blog that I know of I think they are rather intresting to check out and read for leisure.
Hey that last blog was me, Samantha Hill!!!
Some value to placing personal or private info on the internet is that if you had a porblem, others could solve it or help solve it because they may have experienced something very similar to you and you could do it without even giving them your real name.

Blogging seems to be helpful to some people but we found no use for it. We do not like putting our personal information all over the internet for people to read.

I think blogging is a great forum for hobbiests - getting information from people with the same interests has got to be useful, both for resources for supplies, as well as for what works and what doesn't. Denise
I still prefer expressing myself in person... in real time... with real people... heidi
We found it to be odd that people were very interested in other peoples personal lives tho they only know them over the web. We agreed that blogs serve some useful purposes such as communicating information to people that people may have been to shy to do in person. We also agree that it gives people a chance to be creative in their own way.

I personally, have a blog account and well I only release my blogs to my own group of friends unless it is something that is not too personal and others can learn from it. some personal information can be helpful to others and it is each individuals responsibility to decide what ok and not offencive to themselves or others.
Bloging is something I feel can be a good thing. it connects different people in a really cool way. We all just need to remember that you can give too much info.

Blogging can be a very useful tool if used correctly. It can also be very decieving tool for any creepy person to use to invade your personal space. Personal information may not always be correct, and can be used to convey a false persona. Blogging is biased if it has to do with news.
